West Ham fail with Kieran Gibbs loan bid
West Ham United have had a loan offer rebuffed for Arsenal full-back Kieran Gibbs. The Hammers are on the search for a new left-sided defender after Aaron Cresswell was sidelined for four months with a knee injury.
London Evening Standard says the Hammers had made an approach to sign Gibbs on a temporary basis, before the Gunners ruled out the player's exit.
The 26-year-old is likely to stay put at the Emirates next season despite playing back-up to Nacho Monreal for the left-back position.
The England international has been with the North London outfit since the age of 14.
Meanwhile, Sky Sport News claims that the Hammers have failed with bid for Norwich City defender Martin Olsson.
Slaven Bilic's side will have to turn a 2-1 deficit around against NK Domzale on Thursday night if they are to progress to the Europa League play-offs.
