Real Madrid quote price for Man Utd target

Manchester United can reportedly get their hands on Marco Asensio in the summer provided they can match Real Madrid's £40m asking price.

The Spanish attacker is highly-rated at the European champions, but he still has a long way to go before he could rival the likes of Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo for a starting role.

According to The Star, Jose Mourinho has identified the 21-year-old as a potential target for his side as he seeks to pave way for the departure of Anthony Martial.

Martial has not really impressed in the left wing role this season, and he is now said to be weighing his options with Mourinho, not in favour of his services.

Paris Saint-Germain are among the top sides keen on recruiting the France international, and his exit would provide United with sufficient funds to accommodate Asensio's arrival.

Asensio has amassed seven goals and three assists for Zinedine Zidane's side since his first-team debut in August last year.
