Three Huge Wins In The Battle For Survival

Llorente scored twice to help Swansea City to another win

In what is becoming the tightest relegation battle in recent years in this season's Premier League, three teams that are in the mix for relegation to the Championship picked up huge wins on Saturday that could help them remain amongst England's elite next year.

Swansea, Leicester and Crystal Palace have all struggled this season, but each of them picked up three points in the afternoon's 3pm kick offs.

Swansea took the lead after just twelve minutes against Burnley, when Fernando Llorente headed home. A controversial penalty eight minutes later allowed Burnley to equalise through Andre Gray, before they took the lead on the hour mark, Gray scoring again. Swansea battled back, getting on top of the game, and levelling through a powerful Martin Olsson shot. As the game looked to be finishing in a draw, Fernando Llorente rose again deep into stoppage time to win the game for Swansea and lift them five points clear of the relegation zone.

Leicester City won just two of their last eleven Premier League games under Claudio Ranieri, Since the Italian has left, they have now won two in a row. They had to come from behind at home to Hull City, after Sam Clucas gave the visitors the lead. Full back Christian Fuchs hit back to level the scores at half time. Riyad Mahrez gave the Foxes the lead from the edge of the box in the second half, before the victory was sealed in stoppage time when Tom Huddlestone headed in to his own goal. Craig Shakespeare has said that he wants the Leicester manager's job permanently, and he is doing a good job of auditioning for it.

Goals from two flying wingers were enough for Crystal Palace to beat West Brom 2-0 at the Hawthorns. In a game that had only five shots on target, two of them ended up in the back of West Brom's goal. First, Wilfried Zaha finished off a great Palace move to beat Ben Foster, before a sublime solo effort from Andros Townsend sealed the win. Sam Allardyce's team have struggled this season, but now have a three point gap over the teams in the relegation zone.
