Everton planning £75 million summer spending spree

Everton planning £75 million summer spending spree

Ronald Koeman news

Ronald Koeman is preparing to spend big this summer

After assuring players and fans alike that Everton are a team with ambition, the owners of the Merseyside club are set to give manager Ronald Koeman £75 million to spend in the summer, with their sights set on three current Premier League players and a La Liga star.

Everton currently sit in seventh place in the Premier League, and Koeman is looking to strengthen his squad to challenge more seriously for a Champions League spot next season. He will be desperate to keep hold of current star players Romelu Lukaku and Ross Barkley, but if they do leave, it will add to an already impressive transfer budget.

Two of the players that The Toffees are monitoring are Burnley duo Michael Keane and Andre Gray. With intentions to improve the depth of both attack and defence, this double signing would help to do that. Gray is entering the final year of his contract, so a deal could be resolved quickly, but Michael Keane is also attracting attention from the likes of Liverpool, Manchester United and Tottenham, meaning that his future may not be decided for some time.

Swansea City secured Premier League safety over the weekend, but they may still have a battle on their hands when it comes to holding on to star man Gylfi Sigurdsson. The Iceland international has impressed once again at The Liberty Stadium this season, and a move to a team at the other end of the table may be on the cards.

Looking abroad, Everton are also said to be interested in Las Palmas defender Mauricio Lemos, according to The Telegraph. Lemos has been on the radar of Barcelona in the past and is said to have impressed Everton scouts with his performances in La Liga this season.
