Everton close in on midfield duo
Everton boss Ronald Koeman is prepared to sanction the double signing of Davy Klaassen and Gylfi Sigurdsson after giving up in his pursuit of keeping hold of Ross Barkley.
The England international has declined a fresh £100,000 a week contract at Goodison, and he looks to be on the move with his existing deal due to expire in a year's time.
As a result, the Merseysiders are planning to further strengthen their squad with Ajax captain Klaassen and Swansea City midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson on their target list
Klaassen came through a top campaign with the Europa League finalists where he bagged 20 goals across all competitions, and the Toffees look close to sealing a £22m deal for his signature.
Meanwhile, Sigurdsson has been on Koeman's radar since the start of last season, and his contribution towards Swans' Premier League survival is likely to raise his valuation to around £30m.
Everton finished seventh in the Premier League standings last term, and they will, in turn, start their Europa League campaign in the third qualifying round starting next month.
