Barcelona eyeing surprise deal for Manchester United outcast
Barcelona are reportedly monitoring the proceedings of Manchester United defender Luke Shaw ahead of this summer's transfer window.
Shaw, 22, was recently the subject of public criticism from Jose Mourinho following the Brighton & Hove Albion, and this appears to have ended his prospects of becoming a regular at Old Trafford.
According to The Mirror, Shaw's situation has caught the attention of Barcelona, who are eyeing a new left-sided defender to compete with Spain international Jordi Alba.
If a move goes through, it may potentially hamper the future of Lucas Digne, who has been identified as one of the five players including Andre Gomes, and Paco Alcacer who are likely to be offloaded by Barca during the summer.
Everton, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur have also been linked the services of the former Southampton graduate, but the prospect of joining a club of Barcelona's calibre would surely be hard to turn down for the full-back.
