Tottenham discuss Martial-Alderweireld swap with Manchester United
Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly prepared to sell Toby Alderweireld to Manchester United, should they be offered Anthony Martial as part of the deal.
Earlier last week, it was suggested that United had approached over a £55m move for the Belgian defender, who has just one year left on his Spurs contract.
However, the north Londoners have since demanded a package of £75m for their centre-back but they are prepared to discuss an alternate deal involving Martial, ESPN reports.
Spurs have followed Martial's progress since his time at AS Monaco and they are said to want the Frenchman included as a makeweight in a proposed deal for Alderweireld.
Nevertheless, United boss Jose Mourinho remains reluctant to offload Martial to a direct league rival and this could hamper the club's chances of pursuing Alderweireld.
Alderweireld managed just 13 league starts for Spurs during the recently concluded campaign after falling behind Davinson Sanchez and Jan Vertonghen in the pecking order for a central defensive role.
