Arsenal close to agreeing four-year contract with Aaron Ramsey
Arsenal are reportedly close to securing a fresh four-year contract with Aaron Ramsey. The Welsh midfielder has been with the Gunners for the past decade and new boss Unai Emery is now keen on extending his stay beyond the summer of 2019.
According to The Telegraph, talks have moved fruitfully with regards to the player's extension and an agreement could be reached once the midfielder returns for pre-season.
Ramsey has already talked about his excitement of working under Unai Emery and based on recent reports, he is expected to pen a new contract which would potentially double his £100,000-a-week salary.
Meanwhile, there has been the talk of him being handed the captain's armband ahead of the 2018/19 campaign with Emery keen to build his new-look squad around him.
Arsenal have so far sealed the signings of Stephan Lichtsteiner and Bernd Leno this summer but there could be further additions in the next few weeks with Sokratis and Lucas Torreira heavily fancied to join the club.
