Manchester United plan move for Barcelona winger
Manchester United are reportedly planning a surprise swoop for Barcelona's Ousmane Dembele amid the uncertainty surrounding the future of Anthony Martial.
Dembele joined the Blaugrana from Borussia Dortmund only last summer but injury and a drop in form witnessed him make just 14 starts for Ernesto Valverde's side.
As such, the Blaugrana are open to the prospect of loaning him elsewhere to aid his development and United are among the front-runners to secure his signature, The Star reports.
Jose Mourinho's side are presently in a comfortable position in terms of their options in the attack but the manager is nevertheless keen on pursuing another forward as they seek to close the gap on Manchester City.
Meanwhile, Martial has been constantly linked with a move away from Old Trafford and he could be heading through the exit door, if he is not assured of a regular starting role next season.
Manchester United have recently made an attempt to re-sign Cristiano Ronaldo from Real Madrid but their approach was knocked back amid Juventus' advanced negotiations for the Portuguese.
