Arsenal's summer signing Lucas Torreira has stressed that he is clearly content at the north London side despite not making a league start for them under Unai Emery.

The Uruguay international joined the Gunners from Sampdoria during the summer transfer window and he was thereafter tipped to secure a regular starting role with the side.

However, Emery has thought otherwise with Granit Xhaka and Mateo Guendouzi starting in midfield but Torreira remains happy with the new challenge bestowed upon him.

"I'm really happy. It's all very new for me because I've come from a different type of league. The climate is different here and the way of life too, but I'm settling in nicely and training hard – the sessions are different too," he told the club's official website.

Guendouzi was the one replaced during the second half of the 3-1 triumph over West Ham United and thereafter the Gunners managed to hold better possession with Xhaka and Torreira looking more assured in midfield.

As a result, the Uruguayan could be fancied to make his maiden start for the Gunners this weekend where they are due to make the trip to Cardiff to face Neil Warnock's side.
