Tottenham manager Pochettino slams chairman Levy
Tottenham coach Mauricio Pochettino has left a scathing assessment of his club's management setup, telling reporters that at Spurs he is not the one who makes decisions on club transfers. Pochettino was unable to sign anyone last season and Spurs look set to sell some major names this summer in a busy transfer window.
Despite a successful Champions League run, Spurs are yet to have signed any new players, but are linked with numerous names. Pochettino is knowingly frustrated that he may have to sell the likes of Dele Alli, Danny Rose, Kyle Walker-Peters and Christian Eriksen this summer.
Pochettino quipped: "At Manchester City and Liverpool, Pep Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp are free to decide which players they want and which ones they do not.
"However, in other teams such as Tottenham , Chelsea or Arsenal the make-up of the squad isn't in the hands of the coaches. Who decides, in our case, is the president.
"It is imperative that this year we strengthen the team. We saved a lot of money in almost two years without signing and that should allow us to strengthen ourselves well."
