Manchester United are understood to have rebuffed the chance to sign Moise Kean before the striker made the permanent move to Everton from Juventus.

The Red Devils have recently drawn criticism from the supporters for the sale of Romelu Lukaku to Inter Milan on deadline day without finding a suitable replacement.

Juventus' Mario Mandzukic was deemed to be on the club's radar during the final hours of the transfer window but they could not find the breakthrough in terms of the fee with the Bianconeri.

As such, they are likely to be dependent on Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford to regularly lead the line this season, but it appears that things could have been different.

According to 90min, super-agent Mino Raiola had initially offered the services of his client Kean to the Red Devils but the club opted against making an approach for the then Juventus striker.

Raiola has previously brokered deals for the likes of Paul Pogba, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Zlatan Ibrahimovic to join the Red Devils, but that relationship seems to have deteriorated over the summer.

The Italian-born representative had publicly suggested that Pogba wants to part ways with United during the early stages of the summer transfer window and that has seemingly not gone well with the club's hierarchy.

Martial is expected to lead the line against Chelsea for the league opener this weekend after being handed with the number nine shirt for the second time in his Manchester United career.
