Arsenal identify Unai Emery replacements?

Arsenal have reportedly earmarked Massimiliano Allegri and Mikel Arteta as potential candidates to replace Unai Emery as the next head coach.

Emery was offered with sufficient funds to strengthen the squad during the summer but that has, however, not improved the results on the playing field.

The Gunners are already six points behind the top four in the Premier League and there are reports suggesting that the Spaniard could be sacked, should the current run of form continue.

According to The Mirror, the north London giants are looking into a potential successor for Emery and both Allegri and Arteta are being considered for the role.

Allegri won the Serie A crown with Juventus for five seasons on the bounce but he is currently out-of-work after deciding to end his association with the Bianconeri over the summer.

Arteta, on the other hand, has been acting as the assistant to Pep Guardiola at Manchester City but he has been touted to pick up a high-profile managerial role sooner rather than later.
