Newcastle United eyeing shock move for Arsenal midfielder
Newcastle United have reportedly earmarked Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka as a potential target for the winter transfer window.
The Switzerland international recently reacted angrily to the fans, who were cheering his substitution against Crystal Palace and he has since been stripped from the captaincy.
Xhaka has also been excluded from the Gunners' matchday squad for the past three games in all competitions and there are suggestions that he may have played his final match for the north London giants.
According to The Times, Magpies boss Steve Bruce remains a keen admirer of Xhaka and he is prepared to offer him with an escape route on either a permanent or temporary deal.
It is added that Xhaka could be tempted to part ways from the Gunners this winter, given his lack of gametime would definitely hamper his prospects of making the Euro 2020 squad with his country.
Lucas Torreira and Matteo Guendouzi were the midfield pairing during the recent Premier League clash against Wolverhampton Wanderers and they are expected to keep their places for the forthcoming trip to Leicester City.
