Volland set for Premier League move?

Kevin Volland has emerged as the primary transfer target for Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta this January, with the German international forward amongst the club's monitored players. Volland, who is currently playing for Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga, has scored close to 40 goals in over 100 games for his side.

Volland remains one of Germany's top striking talents and is earmarked as a possible replacement for one of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang or Alexandre Lacazette should depart the club elsewhere.

The left-footed striker is available for a fee of around 50 million euros and whilst Aubameyang is being monitored by Real Madrid, Lacazette is a surprise target for Barcelona who are seeking a long term successor for Luis Suarez.

Volland has previously hinted that he would like to make a transfer to England or Italy, but it is understood by his agent and advisors that he would prefer to transfer to the Premier League as his style of football would not be suited to Italian football. Volland has two years left on his existing contract.
