Barcelona to swoop for Chelsea star this month?
Spanish giants Barcelona are reportedly weighing up a transfer approach for Olivier Giroud as they seek to overcome the injury absence of Luis Suarez upfront.
The Blaugrana are expected to be without Luis Suarez until May following his knee injury and they are said to be on the lookout for an experienced marksman, who can replace the Uruguayan for the next few months.
According to Sport, the Catalans are looking into Giroud's situation at Stamford Bridge and they are likely to make an attempt to lure him to the Camp Nou on an 18-month contract.
The 33-year-old has fallen down the pecking order at Chelsea this term and he has made just seven appearances while playing back-up to the likes of Tammy Abraham and Michy Batshuayi upfront.
This has brought up concerns regarding his France spot for Euro 2020 and Giroud is understood to be eyeing regular gametime elsewhere for the second half of the current campaign.
Inter Milan have been deemed favourites to sign Giroud for the past few weeks. The Nerazzurri have already landed Victor Moses on loan from the Blues with the option to buy in the summer.
