Jimenez fancied to join either United or Chelsea

Former Premier League star Darren Bent believes Manchester United and Chelsea could make moves to sign Raul Jimenez from Wolverhampton Wanderers in the summer.

The Blues have depended on Tammy Abraham for the striking duties this term but they have lacked someone who can provide strong competition, considering Michy Batshuayi has largely featured off the bench.

Meanwhile, United have found success with Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford and Mason Greenwood leading the line but they have lacked the presence of a striker with a strong physical attribute.

Of course, loan signing Odion Ighalo can help in that aspect during the backend of the season but there are still doubts whether he can meet the expectations after spending three seasons in China.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, Bent believes both United and Chelsea are in need of a new marksman and has highlighted Jimenez as a target for the duo.

“From what I’m hearing, there will be a lot of top clubs trying to sign him in the summer. He could do a job at Chelsea," he exclusively told the news outlet.

"I can see Manchester United or Chelsea coming in for him. Jimenez knows the Premier League, so that is the advantage so he would be a great signing for either."

Chelsea and Manchester United will face each other in the Premier League on February 17. The Blues are currently fourth on the table with 41 points, six ahead of eighth-placed United.
