Arsenal boss to offload five players this summer?

Mikel Arteta news

Arteta prepared to sell at least five players

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta could reportedly sanction the departure of five first-team players during the next transfer window.

The north London side have lied outside of the Champions League spots this term and they appear likely to miss out on the competition unless they can recover the deficit in the final months of the campaign.

The Gunners have recently won three league games on the bounce but they are still five points behind fifth-placed Manchester United, who are presently holding onto the final Champions League place.

According to The Mirror, Arteta is expected to rebuild the squad during the summer and he is prepared to part ways with as many as five first-team players.

It is added that Sokratis Papastathopoulos, Sead Kolasinac and Shkodran Mustafi are among the defenders, who could be shown the exit door while Mohamed Elneny and Henrikh Mkhitaryan will be sold after respective loan deals conclude.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is another player, who could end his association with the club, suppose he remains reluctant to sign a new contract beyond next season.
