Tottenham Hotspur enter the race to sign Brazilian star
Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly joined the likes of Arsenal and Everton in the race to sign Thiago Silva at the end of the season.
The Brazil international has spent nearly eight years with Les Parisiens, but he is expected to leave the club on a free transfer when his contract expires at the end of their Champions League campaign.
Arsenal and Everton have been mentioned as some of the high profile clubs in the running to sign Silva but it appears that they could face competition from Spurs.
According to The Sun, the north London side are aiming to find a replacement for Jan Vertonghen, who is set to leave the club when his contract runs down in a fortnight's time.
Spurs have been in negotiations with the Belgian over a short-term extension for the rest of the season but so far, they have failed to make the breakthrough with the versatile defender.
Regardless of this, manager Jose Mourinho wants another experienced centre-back in the squad for the next campaign and Silva has been identified as a suitable target.
Aside from the Premier League trio, AC Milan have also been credited with an interest in the 35-year-old, who has made 31 appearances for Les Parisiens this term.
