Nicolas Anelka speaks on Chelsea's title prospects

Former Chelsea star Nicolas Anelka believes the Blues have a good chance of winning the Premier League title after the summer investment.

The Blues have been very active in the transfer market this summer and Kai Havertz was their recent purchase from Bayer Leverkusen.

Apart from the German, they have also landed the services of Hakim Ziyech, Timo Werner, Ben Chilwell, Malang Sarr and Thiago Silva.

That has taken their spending spree to more than £200m and they are still aiming to land another centre-back and a new goalkeeper.

Speaking to Stadium Astro, Anelka believes Lampard can guide the side to the title after helping them finish fourth with no signings last term.

"[Lampard] got the quality to finish fourth in the league last season and, with the signings, he’s got the quality to win it," He told.

"It depends after in terms of the experience of the players whether they are strong enough to race until the end but the quality is in Chelsea as well."

Chelsea start their Premier League season with an away trip to Brighton & Hove Albion on September 14 before hosting Liverpool at home.
