Arsenal, Chelsea keen on signing World Cup-winning defender?
Arsenal and Chelsea could compete for the services of Jerome Boateng when his contract expires with Bayern Munich next summer.
The German has enjoyed a superb run of form under Hansi Flick and he has been a regular in the central defence alongside David Alaba.
He has already made nine appearances this term, but his future remains uncertain with his deal expiring after June 2021.
According to Bild, Bayern are prepared to accept Boateng's departure on a free transfer, suppose he turns down a new deal.
It is added that they won't consider a cut-price sale in January for him or Alaba whose contract also expires in eight months' time.
Both Arsenal and Chelsea are long-term admirers of the 2014 World Cup winner and they could battle it out for his signature.
Tottenham Hotspur have also been credited with an interest in Boateng, who previously spent a season with Manchester City.
Boateng has made 333 appearances across all competitions for Bayern to date.
