Militao on Liverpool radar

Liverpool are reportedly planning a mid-season move for Eder Militao as they look to solve their central defensive crisis.

Earlier last month, it was confirmed that Virgil van Dijk could be out for the season with a serious knee injury and Joe Gomez has recently joined him on the sidelines with a similar setback.

This has left Jurgen Klopp with Joel Matip as the only senior centre-back and the Cameroonian's fitness has been a worry for the Reds over the past 18 months.

According to AS, Militao has emerged as an option for the Premier League holders and they could be prepared to offer around £36m to land his services in January.

However, it is unclear whether Zinedine Zidane's side will entertain any bids for the player, given he is considered as an immediate back-up option behind Sergio Ramos and Raphael Varane.

The former Porto man has found first-team chances hard to come by since his move to the Bernabeu. He has made just three appearances across all competitions this term.
