Chelsea interested in Bayern Munich centre-back

Chelsea have identified Bayern Munich defender Niklas Sule as a potential target for the summer transfer window.

The Blues are likely to reinforce their central defence and manager Thomas Tuchel is looking for a new recruit from the Bundesliga.

David Alaba has been on the club's radar, but he has been tipped to join Real Madrid for free when his Bayern contract expires in June.

According to SportBild, the west London giants have identified Sule as the potential alternative to the Austria international.

Sule has been in-and-out of the starting lineup at Bayern and there are suggestions that he could leave with the arrival of Dayot Upamecano.

The German's current deal expires in June 2022 and reports claim that he could be available for around £25m this summer.

The Blues currently have four senior centre-backs in Antonio Rudiger, Thiago Silva, Kurt Zouma and Andreas Christensen.

Christensen seems completely out-of-favour among the quartet and he has been linked with a possible summer exit.
