Arsenal still interested in signing James Maddison
Arsenal are continuing to maintain an interest in signing Leicester City midfielder James Maddison this summer.
The Gunners are keen on landing a creative midfielder, and they have identified Maddison as their top transfer target.
The England international has been a solid performer for the Foxes, but he won't come on the cheap for the Gunners.
The Midlands outfit are looking for around £70m for the playmaker, but the Gunners are hopeful of lowering the price tag.
They plan to offer a player in exchange. They are willing to include Ainsley Maitland-Niles, Reiss Nelson or Joe Willock as a makeweight.
Maddison joined the Foxes from Norwich City in 2018. In his three seasons, he has bagged 27 goals and 20 assists from 118 games.
The player's camp are aware of the interest from the Gunners. Personal terms could be a formality if the club strike an agreement.
The Gunners have already spent £21m to sign Nuno Tavares and Albert Sambi Lokonga from Benfica and Anderlecht respectively.
They are expected to sign Ben White from Brighton & Hove Albion soon. They have agreed to pay an initial £50m for him.
