Thomas Tuchel confirms double Chelsea injury blow after West Ham loss
Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has confirmed a double injury blow for the club after their derby defeat at West Ham United.
The Blues suffered a surprise 3-2 loss to the Hammers yesterday. The defeat has seen them drop to third on the table.
Following the game, Tuchel confirmed that both Kai Havertz and Marcos Alonso were substituted with injuries.
The west London giants have been inconsistent since the last international break, dropping five points from four games.
Injuries have partly contributed to the run. N'Golo Kante picked up a knee injury last month. He is out with no return date.
Meanwhile, Mateo Kovacic has been ruled out with a hamstring injury. The Croatian is unlikely to return to action until January.
Elsewhere, Ben Chilwell (knee) and Trevoh Chalobah (hamstring) are also out for the long-term. The injuries are piling up.
Chelsea face Zenit St Petersburg in the midweek European game. They could be without six players for the away encounter.
