Newcastle United table offer for Ivan Toney
Brentford striker Ivan Toney is the subject of interest from Premier League rivals Newcastle United, with the Toon Army readying a reported £25 million bid for the striker. According to reports, Toney is ready for a new challenge and is tempted by the move north to Newcastle.
Man Utd were also sensationally linked with a move for Toney at the weekend, but it is Eddie Howe's side who are the reported clear favourites to snap up the former Peterborough striker.
With 43 goals in 78 games since moving to Brentford from Peterborough, 26-year-old Toney is fast becoming one of the most in demand strikers in England.
After missing out on a deal for Hugo Ekitike, who joined Paris St Germain on a loan deal until 2023 yesterday, Newcastle are seeking an alternative and are confident that Toney is the man that will lead their line next season.
According to the Sun, Toney might be available for as little as £25 million, although Brentford have announced they have no plans to sell their striker. However, Toney has indicated he is ready for a move to a bigger side.
