Arsenal forward to move back to home country?
Brazilian forward Gabriel Jesus, 28, could be about to return to his home country as Flamengo have reportedly contacted Arsenal with regard to a transfer deal. The player's spell at the Emirates Stadium has been blighted through injury, and it is hoped that a return to Brazil will give the former Man City star another opportunity to prove himself.
Gabriel Jesus is extremely popular at Arsenal, and Mikel Arteta highly rates the 28-year-old striker, but injuries have slowed his progress and he has only played in the Premier League 70 times since 2022, scoring eighteen goals.
Flamengo, who reached the last 16 of the recent Club World Cup in the United States, received around $27 million in prize money and a further $10 million in sponsorship from their attendance and it is understood that the club want to spend the majority of that fee bringing Jesus back to Brazil.
Arsenal fans will be delighted to have secured a deal for Viktor Gyokeres yesterday, and several supporters are asking that the club keep Gabriel Jesus and play him as a back up left winger as an alternative to fellow countryman Gabriel Martinelli.
