Giroud and Zouma start, Predicted Chelsea lineup (3-4-2-1) to face Liverpool

03 March 2020 - 16:42

Chelsea host Liverpool in the fifth round of the FA Cup tonight.

  • Arsenal to swap Gabriel Jesus for Inter Milan star?
  • Arsenal leading race to sign Belgian midfielder

  • The Blues are winless in the past two games in all competitions but they will be aiming to erase the run against the Reds as they seek to keep their silverware hopes alive for the campaign.

    Predicted Lineup:

Kepa Arrizabalaga has been axed for the Premier League and Champions League duties of late with Willy Caballero taking his spot. Hence, we are anticipating the Spaniard to return between the sticks as the Cup shot-stopper.

In the backline, there may be a couple of changes from the 2-2 draw at Bournemouth. Andreas Christensen is likely to remain out of contention after a minor niggle while Fikayo Tomori could be dropped after a below-par display at the Vitality Stadium.

Antonio Rudiger and Kurt Zouma may replace the duo. Lampard is likely to stick with the three-at-the-back formation, particularly with the success of Marcos Alonso from the left wing-back role over the past couple of Premier League games.

In the centre of the park, Mateo Kovacic and Jorginho may continue to keep their places. Ruben Loftus-Cheek is not part of the squad after featuring for the development side last night. N'Golo Kante is out of contention with a muscle injury.

Further forward, we are anticipating Mason Mount to keep his place. Pedro could be swapped with Willian while Olivier Giroud should lead the attack. The Frenchman likes to play against the Merseyside giants. He has scored seven goals from 14 matches against them.
