Predicted Arsenal lineup vs Southampton - Premier League

Predicted Arsenal lineup (4-2-3-1) vs Southampton, Lacazette and Saka start

26 January 2021 - 19:34

Arsenal will be aiming to extend their five-match unbeaten run in the Premier League against Southampton tonight.

  • Arsenal to swap Gabriel Jesus for Inter Milan star?
  • Arsenal leading race to sign Belgian midfielder

  • The Gunners were recently eliminated by the Saints in the FA Cup fourth round and they will be hoping to make amends.

    Formation: 4-2-3-1

    Predicted Lineup:

Bernd Leno has played every minute of the Gunners' league campaign and he is expected to start in goal tonight.

In the defence, there could be a couple of changes from the cup defeat to the Saints.

Kieran Tierney may come in at left-back for Cedric while Gabriel is likely to be replaced with David Luiz in the central defence.

Gabriel had only recently recovered from COVID-19 and he looked rusty with his display last weekend where he conceded an own goal.

In the midfield, Thomas Partey and Granit Xhaka should be the likely combination.

Dani Ceballos is still out injured with a calf problem while Mohamed Elneny may be restricted to a bench role.

Further forward, Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli should feature on the right and left wing respectively.

Martinelli missed a wonderful scoring chance at the weekend and he will be aiming to redeem himself.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang continues to remain absent due to personal reasons.

Emile Smith Rowe is expected to slot into the number 10 role with Alexandre Lacazette leading the line.

Lacazette has been in fine league form since Boxing Day and he has bagged four goals in his previous five games.

Predicted Arsenal Lineup (4-2-3-1): Leno; Bellerin, Holding, Luiz, Tierney; Xhaka, Partey; Saka, Smith Rowe, Martinelli; Lacazette
