Predicted Arsenal line-up (4-2-3-1) vs Shakhtar, Martinelli starts

22 October 2024 - 17:19

Arsenal welcome Shakhtar Donetsk in tonight's Champions League clash at the Emirates Stadium.

  • Arsenal likely to unveil second signing this weekend
  • Chelsea handed boost in signing Alejandro Garnacho?

  • The Gunners suffered a 2-0 loss to Bournemouth in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

They had an early sending-off in the game and this paved the way for a forgettable defeat.

The Gunners will be aiming to make amends tonight.

    Formation: 4-2-3-1

    Predicted Line-up:

David Raya is a guaranteed starter in goal for the Gunners.

In front of him, it should be the same back four of Ben White, William Saliba, Gabriel Magalhaes and Riccardo Calafiori.

Saliba will be absent against Liverpool on Sunday evening due to his sending-off against the Cherries at the Vitality Stadium.

Declan Rice and Thomas Partey should line up in the heart of the midfield.

Mikel Merino could be dropped after an underwhelming full debut.

Leandro Trossard could feature in the number 10 position with Raheem Sterling and Gabriel Martinelli in the wide attacking roles.

Bukayo Saka and Martin Odegaard are sidelined with injuries. The duo were absent in Monday's training session and are unlikely to feature.

Kai Havertz is expected to lead the line ahead of Gabriel Jesus.

Predicted Arsenal line-up (4-2-3-1) vs Shakhtar: Raya; White, Saliba, Gabriel, Calafiori; Partey, Rice; Sterling, Trossard, Martinelli; Havertz.
