Crystal Palace table fresh Benteke bid
Crystal Palace have come up with a fresh approach for Liverpool striker Christian Benteke after their initial £25m bid was rejected last week.
Benteke is currently on the fringes of the first-team following the arrival of Senegalese winger Sadio Mane from Southampton.
According to The Mirror, Eagles boss Alan Pardew has lodged a club-record offer of £31.5m for the Belgian, and this is likely to be enough to convince the Reds into the player's sale.
The 25-year-old, who joined the Reds from Aston Villa last summer , has failed to prove his worth to current boss Jurgen Klopp.
Palace are known to have stepped their interest in Benteke after missing on fellow Belgian Michy Batshuayi to Chelsea.
The South London outfit are also closing in on a deal for West Ham United defender James Tomkins.
