Tottenham defender Toby Alderweireld is set to be rewarded with a fresh contract following his impressive displays alongside Jan Vertonghen in the heart of the defence. 

The Belgian international has formed an impressive pairing alongside his compatriot at Spurs, and he is close to agreeing terms on a contract extension.
