Newcastle open up talks for Chelsea striker
Newcastle United have opened up discussions with Chelsea over the potential loan signing of Tammy Abraham during the summer transfer window.
The England under-21 international excelled during his first stint away from Stamford Bridge as he bagged 23 goals in the Championship with Bristol City.
According to The Sun, the Magpies are lining up a temporary move for the highly-rated striker as Rafa Benitez plans to add more options to his strike force ahead of the new season.
Rafa is likely to be backed with a sizeable kitty to progress the club further on their top-flight return, but he is nevertheless looking into a deal for Abraham, who was only second to Leeds United's Chris Wood in the goalscoring charts.
Leicester City are the other club lining up a loan approach for the young striker while rivals Arsenal are eyeing up a permanent deal, should the marksman opt to end his Blues association altogether.
Abraham is currently behind the likes of Diego Costa, Michy Batshuayi and potentially Bertrand Traore in the pecking order, and he could benefit from a temporary spell in the top flight.
