Arsenal to complete signing of French youngster
Arsenal are closing in on the signing of French midfielder Matteo Guendouzi from FC Lorient, according to reports.
The Mirror reports that a fee of a little over £7million has been agreed with Arsenal for the transfer of the France Under-20 international.
A five-year contract has been reportedly agreed, and the player is expected in London within the next 48 hours to complete a medical.
With this move, it looks like Unai Emery is carrying on Arsene Wenger's style of buying relatively unknown and unproven players.
While rivals were going for the very best in football, Wenger was not always following the trend, and this cost them trophies, according to fans and pundits.
Wenger was severely criticized for some of the signings he made during his time with the Gunners. While some went ahead to become successful, others didn't really live up to the belief Wenger had in them.
With Lucas Torreira close to a move to the Gunners, Arsenal could complete two more signings before the week runs out. The club have already completed the signings of Bernd Leno, Stephan Lichtsteiner and Sokratis Papastathopoulos.
