Manchester United to go for Celtic defender?
Manchester United will in a year from now go for Celtic defender Kieran Tierney, according to Mirror Football.
United and Everton have been in the hunt for the left-back but have recently pulled out of the race.
United had sent scouts to watch the Scottish national at the Old Firm derby in April this year. It is also believed that Bayern Munich, Barcelona, Arsenal and Chelsea have looked at the defender.
Tierney is seen as a future star that could be a consistent and permanent feature at left-back for Manchester United. Since the departure of Patrice Evra, Manchester United have not had a replacement that was as good as the Frenchman in his heydays.
Luke Shaw was brought in from Southampton to ensure United have no problems in that area, but the defender has been unable to keep Ashley Young on the bench in recent times.
Ashley Young has been doing a fairly good job at left-back, and England's boss Gareth Southgate shares the same view with the Englishman being the first-choice for the same role in the national side.
