Ligue 1 side leading the race for Danny Rose
French side Marseille are reportedly leading the race to sign Danny Rose from Tottenham Hotspur before the end of the current month.
Rose's future has been called into question in recent weeks and this has witnessed him linked with both Schalke and Paris Saint-Germain.
However, The Star now reports that Les Phoceens have jumped ahead of the queue for the left-back and they are aiming to sign him either on loan or on a permanent deal before their transfer window closes on Friday.
Rose has not featured for Spurs so far this term and Mauricio Pochettino is said to be open to the defender's exit with club graduate Kyle Walker-Peters capable of offering support to first-choice left-back Ben Davies.
Rose was most-recently part of the England side at the summer World Cup but his position remains uncertain for the future squads unless he pursues regular first-team football elsewhere.
At present, Gareth Southgate is said to be considering a call-up for Manchester United's Luke Shaw in Rose's expense with the 23-year-old having made a bright start under Jose Mourinho this term.
