Unai Emery confirms 27-year-old star will miss Wolves clash
Arsenal manager Unai Emery has said that Granit Xhaka is not mentally prepared and he is set to miss the forthcoming clash against Wolverhampton Wanderers.
The 27-year-old was substituted at the hour mark of the recent 2-2 draw against Crystal Palace in the Premier League and he thereafter came up with an angry reaction towards the fans, who booed him off the field.
The Swiss has since offered an apology to the fans through a letter published on the club's official Twitter account but he is still expected to miss tomorrow's clash against the Wolves.
"It's not in my mind that he will play tomorrow. I am thinking tomorrow he is not going to play. Now we need to focus 100 percent on the match. Now we are going to train and at the moment he is not in my mind," Emery told Sky Sports.
In the absence of Xhaka, Lucas Torreira seems the likelier option to partner Matteo Guendouzi in the midfield after impressing in the recent League Cup fourth round tie against Liverpool, where he scored a goal.
Meanwhile, the Wolves game could witness the return of Mesut Ozil to Premier League action after more than a month. The German bagged an assist in the midweek game at Anfield.
