Predicted Chelsea lineup (4-3-2-1) to face Aston Villa, Gilmour and Pulisic start
Chelsea are scheduled to face Aston Villa on the road in their first Premier League game following the coronavirus shutdown.
The Blues are presently fourth on the table with a two-point advantage over Manchester United and they will be aiming to extend the gap this afternoon.
Formation: 4-3-3
Predicted Lineup:
Kepa Arrizabalaga managed to retain his spot before the shutdown and he was able to impress against both Everton and Liverpool. The Spaniard is expected to start in goal against the Villains.
In the defence, Lampard could go with Cesar Azpilicueta and Marcos Alonso in the right and left-back positions respectively with Antonio Rudiger accompanying Kurt Zouma at the heart of the backline.
In the centre of the park, we are fancying a three-man combination. Mateo Kovacic and N'Golo Kante could be partnered alongside the young Billy Gilmour, who stood out with his displays in the holding midfield role prior to the lockdown.
Further forward, Mason Mount and Christian Pulisic could take up the attacking midfield positions behind Tammy Abraham. Willian has been a regular choice under Frank Lampard this term but he may be dropped to the bench, given he has yet to agree to a contract extension beyond this month.
Predicted Lineup: Kepa Arrizabalaga, Cesar Azpilicueta, Antonio Rudiger, Kurt Zouma, Marcos Alonso, Ben Gilmour, Mateo Kovacic, N'Golo Kante, Christian Pulisic, Mason Mount, Tammy Abraham
