Arsenal planning to replace Bernd Leno?
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has identified Athletic Bilbao's Unai Simon as a potential replacement for Bernd Leno.
Leno has been a superb performer for the Gunners in recent years, and he has come up with several stand-out displays.
However, his form has been inconsistent in 2021. He has made high-profile errors including an own goal in the recent Everton defeat
According to La Razon, the 29-year-old is now living on borrowed time, and Arteta is aiming to land a replacement in goal.
Simon, has been the regular for Bilbao since the departure of Kepa Arrizabalaga in 2018. He has been identified as the top target.
The Gunners could face competition from West Ham United for Simon, who has now established himself as a regular with Spain.
The north London giants are scheduled to face Villarreal on the road in the first leg of their Europa League semi-final tie on Thursday.
Leno is expected to start in goal despite his howler against the Toffees.
