Werner back on Bayern Munich radar?

Timo Werner has been linked with a potential move to Bayern Munich next summer, according to Sport1.

The German had a mixed debut campaign for the Blues last season, bagging 12 goals and 15 assists from 52 matches.

While his tally was impressive, he was guilty of missing on several clear-cut chances to find the back of the net.

Hence, the Blues were pushed into signing a new marksman in Romelu Lukaku, who has already made his mark.

Werner has been on the bench in the last two outings, and his prospects of game time are slim at the moment.

He is unlikely to displace Lukaku while there is stiff competition for the two attacking positions behind the Belgian.

Kai Havertz, Mason Mount, Christian Pulisic, Hakim Ziyech and Callum Hudson-Odoi are also competing for those roles.

It is now reported that Werner is in contact with Bayern boss Julian Nagelsmann ahead of a potential transfer.

There is a 70 per cent chance of the German ending up with Bayern if Robert Lewandowski leaves them next summer.
