West Ham United want to sign Liverpool ace despite injury
West Ham United are interested in signing Liverpool Nathaniel Phillips despite his recent injury, Standard Sport claims.
The centre-back was instrumental for the Reds last season after serious injuries to Virgil Van Dijk, Joel Matip and Joe Gomez.
He helped them finish in the top four of the Premier League. Despite this, he has fallen down the pecking order this season.
Van Dijk and Matip have been the regular starters this term alongside Ibrahima Konate, who was signed from RB Leipzig.
It is now reported that the Hammers are keen on landing him after long-term injuries to Angelo Ogbonna and Kurt Zouma.
Phillips is currently nursing a damaged cheekbone, and Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that he could be out for several weeks.
Irrespective of this, the Hammers are still interested in his services and are prepared to meet the Reds' £10m valuation.
Aside from Phillips, the east London outfit have also been linked with a fresh approach for Burnley's James Tarkowski.
