Marcos Alonso ready to leave Chelsea?
Marcos Alonso could be prepared to leave Chelsea during the January transfer window.
The Spaniard started the season as the regular at left wing-back, but he was displaced by Ben Chilwell after a couple of months.
Chilwell's recent knee injury has enabled him to retain a starting spot, but his performances have been far from convincing lately.
There is speculation that the Blues could sign another player for the position. They are reportedly interested in Everton's Lucas Digne.
Amidst this, journalist Ian McGarry has claimed that Alonso could be prepared to leave the Blues in January to boost his international prospects.
Alonso has been a regular with Spain recently, and he is eyeing regular first-team football to secure a World Cup berth in Qatar next winter.
There are no assurances that he will remain in the starting XI for Chelsea when Chilwell is fit. He could also be replaced by a winter signing.
It remains to be seen whether the Blues will entertain the prospect of losing him in January. Inter Milan and Juventus have been linked with him.
