Mikel Arteta confirms Arsenal striker won't face Leeds United
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has confirmed that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang won't be part of the matchday squad to face Leeds United.
The Gabon international has been dropped for the past two games against Southampton and West Ham United due to a disciplinary breach.
On top of this, he has been stripped of captaincy. Arteta has now confirmed that the 32-year-old won't be travelling with the squad to Elland Road.
Alexandre Lacazette has been the captain for the past two matches, and the Frenchman has led by example with key goal contributions.
He is expected to keep his place tomorrow. Elsewhere, there are genuine doubts over the future of Aubameyang ahead of the New Year.
According to Daily Mail, he has been banished from first-team training, and his days with the north London giants could be numbered.
Aubameyang has been linked with a possible winter move to Barcelona while Newcastle United could also enter the race to secure his services.
The Magpies were taken over by a Saudi-led consortium in October, and they are expected to go on a spending spree at the beginning of the year.
