Tottenham Hotspur suffer big injury blow
Tottenham Hotspur have suffered a big blow with Matt Doherty having sustained a season-ending knee injury.
The 30-year-old suffered the setback in the opening half against Aston Villa, and he was replaced by Sergio Reguilon.
It is now reported that he has suffered a medial ligament injury which will keep him out of action for the rest of the season.
The news will come as a huge blow for the north London giants, who are vying to finish in the top four of the Premier League.
Spurs are in pole position to do so at the moment, but they are bound to miss the creativity of Doherty over recent months.
The Republic of Ireland international made a slow start to his Spurs career, but has come into his own under Antonio Conte.
Since the winter break, he has two goals and three assists in the Premier League, but won't contribute any more this term.
Doherty started at left wing-back against Villa on Sunday. Sergio Reguilon, who replaced him, should start against Brighton this weekend.
