Chelsea wrap up Koulibaly deal
Chelsea have secured the signing of Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly as the centre-back agrees a long-term contract at the Stamford Bridge outfit. Chelsea plumped for Koulibaly after a deal for Nathan Ake fell through, as Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel revamps his defence ahead of the 2022/23 season.
The Senegal international follows Raheem Sterling to Chelsea, becoming the club's second transfer of the summer window.
With the departures of Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen confirmed, Chelsea have moved quickly to find a replacement in Koulibaly.
Widely regarded as one of the best defenders in Europe, the 31-year-old has been constantly linked with a transfer to England and he has finally got his wish.
Koulibaly undertook his medical on Friday afternoon, paving the way for a transfer confirmation announcement that will likely take place on Monday afternoon.
It is understood that Chelsea still have a few more signings before their activity is complete, with Man Utd forward Cristiano Ronaldo constantly linked wiht a move from Man Utd to West London. In addition to Ronaldo, the Blues are still seeking another centre back.
