Luton Town to sign Arsenal forward on loan?
Mika Biereth is a name that will not be familiar to too many Arsenal fans, but the Danish striker looks set to leave the Emirates Stadium for the 2023/24 season, with a loan deal to Premier League side Luton Town in the pipeline. Biereth arrived at Arsenal in 2021 after initially spending time in Fulham's youth squads. The Gunners gave the 20-year-old forward his first contract in 2021, and last season a loan spell at Dutch club RKC Waalwijk followed.
It is understood that the striker has asked for a loan transfer this season as opposed to playing in Arsenal's youth squad, as he feels more regular first-team action will be beneficial for his development. Biereth has appeared for Denmark's under-21 side, and is very highly rated in England and Denmark.
Biereth has been describe as a modern day Jamie Vardy, partially due to his skill as a "classic number 9". He can also play on the right wing.
Biereth would eventually like to return to Arsenal, but feels Gabriel Jesus, Eddie Nketiah and Folarin Balogun are unlikely to be dislodged from their first-team squad positions this season.
Luton Town will pay around £500,000 for the duration of a loan spell.
