Fulham to sign Arsenal winger for £5 million
Fulham have agreed a fee with Arsenal to sign Reiss Nelson, a player that spent some of last season on loan at Craven Cottage. Mikel Arteta is a huge fan of Nelson but the arrival of Noni Madueke and Viktor Gyokeres will mean that Reiss Nelson has limited opportunities at the Emirates Stadium.
25-year-old Nelson arrived at Arsenal in 2008 as a youth player, and worked his way into the club's first-team in 2017, after loan spells with Hoffenheim, Feyenoord and then later Fulham. Marco Silva, the Cottagers' manager, is a big fan of the winger and wants to give the player another chance at the club after last season's injury setback.
Everton are also monitoring Nelson's situation, but Arsenal's board have a good relationship with Fulham and would prefer to sell the player to the West London side. Last season, Arsenal let Emile Smith-Rowe make the same move.
Nelson was only able to play 12 games in total last season but did show enough ability to persuade the Cottagers to make a transfer move.
