Predicted Chelsea lineup (3-4-3) vs Manchester United, Giroud and Mount start

19 July 2020 - 15:49

Chelsea are scheduled to face Manchester United in the FA Cup semi-final this evening.

  • Arsenal to battle Napoli to sign Alexsandro Ribeiro?
  • Arsenal make surprise decision on Viktor Gyokeres

  • The west London giants have lost their three meetings against the Red Devils this term, but they will be aiming to produce a much better display at the Wembley Stadium.

    Formation: 3-4-3

    Predicted Lineup:

Willy Caballero has been the regular choice when it comes to the Cup competitions and he should start ahead of Kepa Arrizabalaga in goal. In the defence, Frank Lampard may want additional assurance against the Red Devils attack and he may go with three central defenders.

We are fancying Andreas Christensen to return to the starting XI to accompany Antonio Rudiger and Kurt Zouma. Cesar Azpilicueta and Marcos Alonso are likely to slot into the right and left wing-back positions respectively.

In the centre of the park, Mateo Kovacic may get the nod ahead of Jorginho, who has been average with his recent displays. He could be accompanied by Mason Mount, who was rested during the Premier League win over Norwich City.

In the attack, no changes are likely from the recent league encounter. Christian Pulisic and Willian are set to feature on the left and right wing positions respectively. Olivier Giroud should continue to lead the line ahead of Tammy Abraham after scoring in his previous three starts.

Predicted Chelsea Lineup (3-4-3): Willy Caballero, Andreas Christensen, Antonio Rudiger, Kurt Zouma, Cesar Azpilicueta, Mateo Kovacic, Mason Mount, Marcos Alonso, Willian, Christian Pulisic, Olivier Giroud
