Chelsea face off against Manchester City in tonight's Carabao Cup third round tie. Blues boss Graham Potter is likely to ring in the changes following the club's 1-0 loss to Arsenal at Stamford Bridge.

  • Arsenal to swap Gabriel Jesus for Inter Milan star?
  • Arsenal leading race to sign Belgian midfielder

  • Predicted Line-up:

Edouard Mendy is expected to continue between the sticks with Kepa Arrizabalaga still nursing a foot injury. The Senegal star will be hoping for a strong display in his final two games before the World Cup.

In defence, Potter may make a solitary change from the London derby defeat. Thiago Silva could be given a breather with Kalidou Koulibaly coming into the heart of the backline.

There could be a complete reshuffle in midfield. Jorginho is doubtful with a foot injury and could be rested altogether. Ruben Loftus-Cheek could also drop to the bench. Denis Zakaria and Mateo Kovacic are in line to start.

Conor Gallagher should get the nod over Mason Mount in the number 10 role. Either side of him, it could be Hakim Ziyech and Christian Pulisic. Armando Broja could make his second start of his Blues career up front.

Predicted Chelsea line-up (4-2-3-1): Mendy; Azpilicueta, Chalobah, Koulibaly, Cucurella; Zakaria, Kovacic; Ziyech, Gallagher, Pulisic; Broja.
