Arsenal have made an improved offer of £60 million to sign Chelsea forward Kai Havertz this summer.
The Germany international has already agreed personal terms with the Gunners, and talks are currently ongoing over the fee.
Arsenal's first offer of £45m was rejected by the Blues, but the club have now made a fresh proposal of £55m plus £5m in add-ons.
Chelsea are currently holding out for around £75m, but they could change their stance soon due to their necessity for funds.
The Blues are desperate to balance their books by June 30. This could urge them to finalise a transfer fee for Havertz soon.
Aside from Havertz, the west London giants are expected to sanction a wholesale of departures before the end of the month.
Mason Mount, Mateo Kovacic, Hakim Ziyech, Edouard Mendy and Kalidou Koulibaly are widely expected to leave in June.
Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Christian Pulisic and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang could also head for the exit door in the next 10 days.
